Sweet Expressions is a locally owned, independent custom bakery serving the Upstate of South Carolina and surrounding area since 1989. Owner/decorator Kathy Scott is dedicated to providing quality products at fair prices. Offering over 30 flavors of cake sure to please any taste, Sweet Expressions also offers styles of decorating from traditional American buttercream to the fondant styles of Europe and Australia.
Kathy has over 25 years of baking and decorating experience and has completed numerous classes and seminars with teachers from all over the world to be able to provide customers exactly what they want. She is herself an internationally known decorator, demonstrator, teacher and sugar art judge and has had several of her creations pictured in the International Cake Exploration Societe magazine. She was the winner of many Best of Show Awards in Georgia and South Carolina. She recently was a bronze place winner in the 2003 Southeastern Olympic Decorating Competition, which is a seven state competition, where she also won a bronze in the sculpture category, a silver in the fondant category and a gold in the wedding cake category. Kathy recently became a Certified Master Sugar Artist, a certification from the International Cake Exploration Societe. She is also a Retail Bakery Association Certified Decorator, which at the time of this writing there are less than 20 in the United States.
Dennis is the main baker and technical advisor at Sweet Expressions. He has over 20 years of baking experience and also the chief engineer who built and designed the new Sweet Expressions Bakery. Dennis believes in using the highest quality ingredients to produce moist, cakes with wonderful distinct flavors.
Vicky Harlen has joined our team. She too has over 25 years decorating experience, 15 of which owning her own cake shop in Washington State. Vicky is also in internationally known decorator, demonstrator, teacher and sugar art judge.
Kathy and Dennis are members of the Retailer.s Bakery Association (RBA), the Southeastern Bakery Association (SRBA) and the International Cake Exploration Societe (ICES). While RBA and SRBA teaches the business side, ICES which is an international organization with 5000 members in over 30 countries teaches the creative side. Kathy has just completed her third term on the ICES Board of directors, where she has been President twice and Chairman of the Board 5 times.
Sweet Expressions will create the perfect cake for any occasion you might have, wedding, birthday, anniversaries, retirement or any other occasion. No occasion is to big or to small. If you can imagine it, Sweet Expressions can create it.

Customer service and satisfaction are a priority at Sweet Expressions. We provide delivery and after hours consultations for our Brides. We also work with your florist and caterer to make sure your reception is everything you hoped for on your special day. |
